Meet Our Physicians

Dr. Matthew Cameron Rumsey grew up in Pawhuska, OK and graduated from Pawhuska High School in 2003.  He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  Dr. Rumsey started medical school at The University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his final two clinic years at Sanford School of Medicine at The University of South Dakota in 2011.  He completed his Family Medicine Residency training at The University of Missouri-Columbia in 2014.  In the past, he has worked for the Cherokee Nation as a staff physician and served as Medical Director for the Osage Nation Health Center for two years.  Dr. Rumsey has been a Pawhuska Hospital Board member since 2016, is the current Chief of Staff for Pawhuska Hospital Inc., and serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Cohesive Healthcare.  Dr. Rumsey enjoys working with rural health systems and strives to improve the level of healthcare in rural communities.

Dr. Matthew Priest, DO. Dr. Matthew Priest grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and graduated from Pawhuska High School in 2010.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Oklahoma State University in 2014. 

Dr. Priest started Medical School at the OSU Center for Health Sciences where he received dual degrees for DO/MBA in 2019. He then completed his Family Medicine Residency at Oklahoma State University Tulsa in 2022.

Dr. Priest is a 5th generation provider in the area and strives to improve the level of healthcare for patients at Pawhuska Family Medical Clinic and in our community.

Heather Brandwein, APRN – graduated from Morris High School before obtaining her nursing degree from Oklahoma State Institute of Technology in 2010. She worked as an RN at Saint Francis Main Hospital for 7 years. While working she obtained her bachelor’s degree from Northern State University and her master’s as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University in 2018. Heather lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she enjoys basketball, Chief’s football, cooking, and her two Golden Retrievers, Moose and Millie.

Jessica Cartwright, APRN – Jessica was born and raised in Tulsa, Ok. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and then attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for her undergraduate program.  She then graduated from Langston University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She has been in the nursing field for 8 years with a significant background in cardiology from CVICU to cath lab. While working she obtained her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University in 2020. Jessica lives in Tulsa with her husband and children. She enjoys warm weather, exercising, traveling and anything that gets her outside and active.
